A weekend to discover two great artists from Marche, who made the difference, artists who created art and music styles that changed an era and artists, who everybody after them had to compare with.
1°DAY
Arrival to a food hotel by your choice in the morning. Accommodation in the reserved rooms, free lunch. In the afternoon visit to PESARO, famous for being the hometown of the great composer Gioacchino Rossini, is a famous historic place with architectural and art witnesses of different periods. Visit to the birthplace where his heirlooms are preserved, the Theatre and the Conservatory, funded by Rossini, which preserves the Tempietto (Conservatory with a Temple). His family was a modest one, and because of the political ideas of his father, the family was forced to move from one town to the other between Romagna and Emilia. Free time for a stroll through the old town and to enjoy a tasty aperitif “Rossini” with strawberries and Prosecco wine!
DINNER in an ancient lodging inside the fortified hamlet of Novilara with typical menu. Free evening, return to the chosen hotel and overnight.
2°DAY
Breakfast in the chosen hotel. Visit to URBINO, with the picturesque old town and the Palazzo Ducale. We start the visit with the “Lumaca”, a winding staircase designed by Francesco di Giorgio Martini and to the Torricini fassade, created by Laurana and at the end, the Palazzo “A town-shaped palace” as Castiglione defined it. The greatest men of culture, art, music and warfare were guests of Federico da Montefeltro, the man who managed to combine the intellect and the emotions. In his palace, we can admire the masterpieces of Piero della Francesca, Paolo Uccello, Luciano Laurana, Raffaello Sanzio, the Studiolo of Federico and so on. From the palace through the suggestive medieval alleys, we will visit the old town, from the square we move on to the Birthplace of Raffaello, where the great artist, son of the painter Giovanni Santi, was born. He taught his son the first techniques together with the ideals of the Renaissance, learnt at the Montefeltro Court. Inside the rooms have been furnished with ancient pieces of furniture by the Accademia Raffaello, which has his venue here. Among the works of art of famous and unheard artists we can admire the “Madonna col Bambino” (Madonna with the child) attributed to Raffaello. Free lunch in one of many restaurants of the city center. Free afternoon. Return to the chosen food hotel. Typical DINNER in the chosen food hotel, overnight.
3°DAY
Breakfast in the chosen food hotel. Before leaving, do not miss the chance to visit CAGLI, near the national park of Furlo, an area rich of woods and ideal for the truffle. Visit to an ancient farm, which produces truffle based products.
Tasting of products made with truffle, explanations of the truffle traditions linked with the master of truffle. Free lunch and departure.
