The City of Coriano is absorbed in the green of the country and you/he/she is crossed by the stream Marano that privileges the inhabitants that lodge you since the century III.
The first ones to occupy the country have been the Romans (as the researchers attest) for then to be strengthened from the church in Ravenna and subsequently from the Malatesta which, thanks to the guide of Sigsmondo Padolfo, they rebuilt the Castle. After one century the castle was dominated by the Sassatelli of ideational Imola of the present coat of arms on the sixteenth-century door of entry of the fortification.
The Fortress, has been used for a long time for different uses as, for instance, residence or jails up to the actual use of a house of the castle of Antiquarium that shows the various manufactured articles.
Besides to Coriano it has center, today, St. Partignano that is a center that deals him with the recovery of young addicts through a professional formation in the field “agroalimentare” and handicraft, in fact there is the possibility to produce fabrics, to taste flat whose first subjects directly originate from the Fattoria di San Partignano, to improve the competences thanks to the direct guide of the chef; besides is possible to participate to a demonstration that is held in the month of May devoted to the world kitchen and that has as protagonists the best experts of gastronomy (Squisito! Absolutely not to lose Il Castello (sec. XVI). had become residence of Roberto Malatesta since 1468 to 1482 -, Chiesa Parrocchiale di Santa Maria Assunta (sec. XX) – declared Sanctuary of the SS. Crucifix -, Teatro Comunale (sec. XIX). reopened with the name Court Coriano Teatro and it entertains salt for meeting and tastings -.
The various events that are held during the year are:
– International horse show. Challenge Vincent Muccioli (July-August), competed of world horseback riding;
– Fiera del Sangiovese (3° Sunday of September), tasting new wines;
– Fiera dell’oliva e dei prodotti autunnali (3° and 4° Sunday of November) products, tastes and purchases of the oil extravergine of olive;
– Squisito! Cuochi, prodotti, ricette, vini. Itinerario nel Buonpaese (April-May), 120 gastronomic stands and thousands of ready chef to give suggestions.
